40+

Years Of Excellence

Advancing the practice of mesotherapy through a holistic approach

History Of mesotherapy

Mesotherapy, a revolutionary medical technique that involves injecting precise amounts of medication into the skin, was originally pioneered in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor, a graduate of the Faculty de Medicine de Paris. Dr. Pistor aptly coined the phrase “little, rarely and in the right place” to describe the efficacy of the procedure.

He founded both the French Mesotherapy Society in 1964 and the International Society of Mesotherapy. His innovations earned him numerous accolades, including the Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur, and his continued dedication to perfecting mesotherapy procedures led him to develop novel techniques such as slow diffusion mesotherapy (mesoperfusion) and later, micro-mesotherapy in 1998.

By way of recognition for his work, a university diploma in mesotherapy was established by major French academic institutions. He also designed instruments essential to the process, such as the Pistor 4 injector.

Dr. Pistor’s groundbreaking achievements have not been hindered by his passing. His technique is still actively promoted by various national French mesotherapy societies, who remain committed to expanding its application and further advancing his legacy. Dr. Pistor will always be remembered for his immense contributions to the medical field and his pioneering role in the development of mesotherapy; as a result, the benefits of this amazing treatment continue to be enjoyed across the world.

Years of R&D

About the manufacturer of Pistor

MI | Medical Innovation has been a leading manufacturer of premium mesotherapy guns, consumables and accessories for nearly 40 years. Their reputation as a market-leader is firmly established throughout Europe and beyond, supported by their unwavering commitment to client needs. The company is proud to offer a wide range of mesotherapy guns tailored to meet the specific requirements of each and every practitioner, irrespective of core speciality.

Benefits of mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a highly versatile treatment modality that aims to deliver targeted results with minimal side effects. By depositing small doses of active ingredients across localised areas, risks of diffusion and toxicity are significantly lessened. In medical and aesthetics fields, mesotherapy continues to have a wide range of applications.

During mesotherapy, fine needles are used to deliver local-action actives including anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxants, vasodilators, vitamins, trace elements, and plant calcitonins. Depending on the issue being treated, one or more ingredients may be injected locally or loco-regionally via intradermal, subcutaneous, or epidermal perfusion methods.

Overall, mesotherapy is a safe, effective, and localised treatment that can significantly improve quality of life.
